2008 Race Results

The recorded finish times of some runners in the 5.7km run will vary from their actual time due to a signal tramission problem during the race. This problem effected the times of approximately 20% of runners in the 5.7km course. Those runners effected will have been given the time from when the gun went off at the start to when they crossed the finish line, rather than when they actually crossed the start line to when they crossed the finish line.

We apologise for this problem. The race organisers take all care to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the timing system but unforseen technical problems do occur on rare occasions. Despite this problem, we hope that you enjoyed participating in the 2008 Run for the Kids and we thank you for all your efforts in raising money for the Royal Childrens Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

The following results have been provided by Windag Australasia Pty Ltd in association with their parent company, PygmaLyon.

Windag uses an electronic system that records participants via a magnetic chip attached to the back of each entrant's race bib as they cross the start and finish lines. They also use a badgeur back-up scanning system at the finish.

The organisers are aware that a small percentage of entrants did not have their results officially listed in the Herald Sun and on the race website.

There are a variety of reasons for this ranging from defective magnetic chips to entrants changing zones.

We apologise to any entrant that is not officially listed in the results.
