The Race Entrants Training Vilage Activities News & Photos Contacts & Links

Congratulations and thank-you!

A huge congratulations to everyone who ran, jogged, rolled, walked and cheered at Sunday's Herald Sun / CityLink Run for the Kids.

It was such an amazing sight to see 30,000 people on the roads of Melbourne in support of the hospital and the kids that they treat every day.

Together we raised an incredible $1,001,631 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal and major sponsor, CityLink, have generously rounded the overall donation to $1,050,000.

It's not too late to make a donation to the Appeal – please encourage your family and friends to put their hands in their pockets and make a donation via Everyday Hero.

Thank you to everyone who made this event such a success and I look forward to seeing you all again next year!

Steve Moneghetti
Race Director

Race Feedback:

We would like to thank all participants who have provided feedback in relation to the delayed start of the long course and the Finish line drinks station.

As you may have seen from the photo gallery at www.heraldsun.com.au, we had a participant in the short course who showed immense courage to walk the 5.2km just two years after a major operation and eight months after regaining the ability to walk. We made the decision to allow her to cross Swan Street Bridge in her own time which delayed the start of the long course race.

The warm weather and the fact that there were unfortunately some participants who took it upon themselves to take far more Gatorade than anyone would have expected resulted in some long course participants not receiving any by the time they finished. Gatorade supplied more than enough for every participant and our volunteers did an excellent job in ensuring as many people as possible received a drink at the end of the race.

However, the actions of the minority caused some issues that we will address for future events.

If you have any feedback for the event, please email admin@r4k.com.au
