Time limits

The Herald Sun gratefully acknowledges the support of Transurban and VicRoads in giving access to roads usually prohibited to foot traffic.

All entrants should note the following cut-off times will apply to ensure Melbourne's road network is back operating swiftly. The organiser has the right to remove participants from the course who fail to reach or abide by cut-off times.

There are two cut-off times that will be strictly enforced:

  • All participants in the 15km event must complete the Westgate Freeway (approximately 6km) by 10.30am. A pick-up bus will collect any participant who fails to meet this cut-off time and take them across Bolte Bridge to the drink station at Pearl River Rd, located 9km into the course, where they may continue the race.
  • All participants (15km and 5.5km events) must complete the entire course by 12.00noon. Any participant who remains on the course after this time does so at their own risk.
