Public Transport

Overview

Road closures in operation for the ‘Run for the Kids’ event will cause disruption to the several tram and bus routes that travel through the Melbourne Central Business District in addition to regular taxi operations. The public transport routes affected by each section of road closure are detailed in this section followed by a summary of all disrupted tram and bus routes, and effects to taxi services.

Tram operations are to be maintained on St Kilda Road and Flinders Street for as long as possible as these have been identified as key routes in Melbourne’s Tram Network. In addition, tram services will be reintroduced as a priority for the road re-openings.
