It is important to have a balanced diet when training or engaging in regular physical activity.
As a general rule, the two key components to any diet for active people are:
- Hydration - regular intake of water is essential before, after and during physical activity.
- Carbohydrates - your body requires glucose for energy when you exercise and glucose is formed from the breakdown of carbohydrates (sugar and starches).
